IPFT  has withdrawn their 12 hour dawn to dusk strike, General Secretary Mangal Debbarma said today.

Speaking to the co-respondent this morning, Debbarma said a high level meeting was held between IPFT President N.C Debbrama, Youth IPFT general secretary Shukla Charan Noatia and Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Deputy Chief Minsiter Jishnu Deb Barman, Education and Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath yesterday. The meeting involved discussion on our demands like bye-election in ADC village committees, repeal of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 and Tipraland.

He also said that Chief Minister has assured to take initiative for holding bye-election in village committee soon.

“The Chief Minister assured us that state government would take initiative for holding bye-election in Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) village committee. The strike was called off following his assurance”, General Secretary IPFT told reporters.
