State government decided to take loan of Rs.200cr

The state cabinet on Friday decided to take Rs.200croer loan from Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) or Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) to overcome the debt burden of The debt was incurred due to unplanned development work by former left front government, Law Minister Ratan Lal Nath said.

A review of 21 government departments revealed that 231 works was under progress in them without necessary fund allocation. These departments include school education, higher education, health and family welfare, home, fire, jail, tribal welfare, law, tourism, youth and sports affairs, urban development, science and technology, minority, food and civil supplies, animal resource development, handloom, labour, panchayat, PWD etc.

He also alleged that former left government started these works just to attract the votes to win in the February 18 assembly election this year.
