Shocking! Fan commits suicide by setting himself on fire outside KGF star Yash's house
From the Webdesk, 10/01/2019, Mumbai

Not many knew but even before the release of recent blockbuster KGF: Chapter 1, Rocking Star Yash, as he is lovingly called by his fans in Karnataka, possesses a huge fan following in his home state. He is one of the biggest stars of the Kannada film industry with numerous die-hard fans. But, sometimes the fanatics go out of hand and something similar has happened with Yash.

Yash turned 33 yesterday but he didn't celebrate his birthday as a tribute to the passing away of veteran Kannada actor Ambreesh. But one of his fans, a 26 yeard old Ravi Raghuram reached his house like every year to meet the star and click a selfie with him. However, unlike previous years, Ravi couldn't meet Yash due to Ambrish's death. And this didn't go down well with him as he committed suicide by setting himself on fire right outside Yash's house.  According to a report in News 18, Ravi, who hailed from Dasarahalli, was taken to Victoria hospital by the security personnels outside Yash's house but he soon succumbed to his injuries. According to the reports, he had suffered 70 per cent burns.

Ravi's father was shocked and wasn't sure why Ravi took such a drastic step. He told the reporters, "Ravi goes every year to meet Yash. Last year he had taken us to his house as well. This year, we had told him not to go, but he persisted. Do not know where Ravi got the petrol from."

Yash, on the other hand, was visibly upset and angry as he visited the hospital to meet Ravi. He said, "I do not want fans like this, this is not fandom or love, this does not bring me happiness. I will not come to see anybody else like this again, it will give the wrong message to fans who think that I will come and meet them (if they take drastic steps like this)." According to a report in The News Minute, Dr KT Ramesh, HOD of burns ward had told the media that even while on oxygen support all Ravi could talk about was Yash. His last words were, "When we were dressing his wounds, Ravi asked the doctors whether Yash would come to see him, now that he was struggling between life and death."
