From the Webdesk, 12/01/2019, Agartala

Normal life is prevailing in Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) areas after four indigenous political parties of Tripura, including the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT), Twipra State Party (TSP), National Conference of Tripura (NCT) and Tripura People’s Party (TPP), called a 12-hour dawn-to-dusk bandh  in TTAADC area on Saturday.

A.I.G (Law and Order), Subrata Chakraborty said, the entire TTAADC area remained peaceful so far and no untoward incident was reported from any part of the area.

“There are road blockades by the bandh supporters in three districts of the state. Those are Kalamcherra, SK para and Neilahabari in Dhalai Tripura district, Sachirambari under South Tripura district, Amarpur and Takcherra in Gomati Tripura district. There is no road blockade or demonstration near the Indigenous council headquarters at Khumulwung and adjacent areas in West Tripura district”, Chakraborty said.

Radha Charan Debbaram, Chief Executive Member of Tripura Tribal Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) and a leader of opposition CPI-M said the situation is peaceful.

“Over 1800schools and 8 Colleges in TTAADC are closed and no employee turned up in offices. Everything including Markets and shops remained closed and vehicles remained off the roads”, Debbarma said.
