BJP-IPFT alliance row: Minister NC Debbarma held crucial meeting

With series of disturbances raised by IPFT activist with several demands which has put a question on the existence of alliance between BJP and IPFT, IPFT Chief NC Debbarma on Wednesday sat for a crucial meeting at Nazrul Kalakshetra. With in just Two months into power, differences already started poking between the BHP and IPFT over the nomination of chairmen of block advisory committees (BAC). The issue turns heated as IPFT has demanded 60% of the BAC chairmen’s posts for their party workers, and BJP wants to place the nominations for the post based on the qualifications of candidates.

As a part of the protest the  IPFT supporters have  blocked the national highway at Sabroom in South district, gheraoed Lefunga block in West district along with  Champahoar police station in Khowai district demanding the release of three IPFT workers, arrested over a clash with BJP workers. A thread of tension has started appearing in the state due to the difference among both the party. However, as CM Biplab Kumar Deb has already warned IPFT to stop the violence or else they will dismiss the alliance, Minister NC Debbarma sat for crucial meeting.
