Flood furry: State seeks army, CM Biplab Kumar talks to home Minister related to the flood situation

With heavy rains triggering flash floods in parts of Tripura especially Khowai, North and other Districts, the Tripura government on Thursday sought the help of the army and urged the Centre to provide relief and rescue operations for saving the people jammed in the flood.  CM Biplab Kumar Deb informed Home Minister Rajnath Singh about the flood affected areas and sought the help of the army to evacuate the marooned villagers.

A source added that Home Minister Rajnath Singh have also communicated with army chief and informed him about the flood furry in Tripura.

However, several bridges, including a railway lines, houses were washed away in the floods caused by incessant rains in past two days. Besides, major roads were damaged by floodwaters.

The system is likely to further intensify into depression, causing heavy rain in several parts of the state. The central government have further assure rescue and rehabilitation for the flood affected victims in several parts of the state.

 On the other hand the body of one Kathimoni Debbarma was recovered today morning who was drowned at Khowai Santinagar Garm Panchayat  Boroigoti area.
